Twitter adds quick replies and welcome messages
Twitter recently announced that they would be adding two new features for their direct message system.

With welcome messages businesses can create a default message that automatically gets sent sent out at the beginning of a conversation.
Businesses can create multiple welcome messages and deep-link directly to a specific greeting from existing tweets, websites or apps.
You can find the option to add a welcome message in the support settings page of the Twitter dashboard.
Quick replies are pre-formatted replies that you can select and send out. These can be selected from a list of existing options or require you to enter specific text.
These two options are designed to help businesses reduce wait times and educate their customers better when they need support.
YouTube adds new comment features
YouTube just rolled out several new comment features.
Pinned comments lets the channel owner pin a specific comment to the top of of the feed. This is an excellent feature for bringing more attention to quality comments.
With Creator Hearts the video creator is able to give hearts to their favourite comments.
There are also some enhancements to how creator usernames look in the comments as well. Now when the channel owner replies to a comment their username will appear in a coloured box to make it obvious who they are.
If the creator is verified a checkmark will also appear next to their username.
Medium adds 4 new features for composing stories
Medium also rolled out several new features.
Firstly, image grids now work on mobile.
Second, you can now ever blocks of code directly into your sentences by putting it between backtick ` characters.
Entering 3 backticks at the start of a line is now the shortcut for a standalone code block.
Also, if you copy and paste blocks of code from sites like Github they?ll automatically paste as a code block.
This feature is really only useful for developers but it?s nice to have.
Another new feature they added is the ability to drag and drop images in the editor. If you click on an image that?s been placed in the Medium editor you can drag and drop it around your story.
You can also drag and drop photos on top of each other to create grids with as much images as you want.
Finally they added several new embed options. You can now embed product cards from Product Hunt, travel maps from Alpaca and newsletter signups from Upscribe.
Facebook introduces resources for Business Influencers
Facebook?introduced a new initiative to help business leaders get started on Facebook, build a strategy and connect with their audience.

Instagram Stories adds Boomerang, Mentions and Links
Instagram has introduced several new features for Instagram Stories.
Boomerang stitches together a burst of photos in a mini video that then plays forwards and backwards.
To record a boomerang swipe right from your feed to open the stories camera. The new format picker under the record button now lets you select ?Boomerang? mode.
You can also now add mentions to an Instagram story just link in comments and captions. Simply type an @ followed by the username and it?ll appear in the story as a link to their profile.
You?ll receive a notification under Direct if you?re ever mentioned in someone else?s story as well.
Instagram has also started testing ?see more links? in stories. This allows verified accounts to add a ?see more? section with links for a follower to learn more.
You can tap ?see more? or swipe up to view the link in the app.
Since Instagram currently only allows you to have one link in your bio this is a feature to definitely keep an eye on.
LinkedIn Sponsored InMail is now available to all marketers
Sponsored InMail which lets you send sponsored InMail messages to active LinkedIn members is now available to everyone.
You can access Sponsored InMail from your campaign manager with a LinkedIn advertising account.
Sponsored messages are delivered directly to the user and also include a banner image on the desktop site.
Facebook Ads can now open Messenger
When advertising on Facebook you now have the option to reach users on their newsfeed and direct them to Messenger.
This feature was being tested over the last few months but it?s now available for all marketers.
Absolut used this feature recently to drive product samples.
3 New ways to connect on Periscope
Periscope added 3 new features to help you connect with your followers.
The app now shows a list of up to 10 ?Superfans?. The are the most engaged members of your audience.
The list of Superfans can help you figure out who your biggest fans are and build relationships with them.
Superfans are denoted with a little icon and an individual score.
You can also broadcast videos to groups. You can create groups based on different interests or communities and broadcast directly to them.
The biggest and most interesting new feature introduced though is Periscope.tv. You no longer have to view broadcasts in the mobile app. If you visit Periscope.tv you get all the features of the app but on your desktop computer.
Pinterest simplifies its notifications and adds new ways to keep track of ideas you try
The notification?system in Pinterest just got a whole lot simpler.
The News and You tabs have been combined into a single News tab. Common notifications such as users liking your pins are consolidated into a simple story that you can tap on for more details.
The notifications are much more visible now as well so you can clearly see which pins were liked and saved.
Pinterest is also rolling out a new inbox over the next few days as well.
Pinterest has also added a new feature that lest you check off ideas that you?ve tried.
After checking an idea as tried you can add feedback, notes and photos to help others decide if they should try it as well.
There?s now a new section in your profile that keeps track of the different things you?ve tried so you can easily find them if you want to try them again.
